Parts and Things - Team 37 Race Team

Team 37 is a group of Friends that have traveled together through out the years. While we just like to have fun because of the hard economic times we have decided to make a trip with a purpose. We are doing the HILL CLIMB FOR HUNGER. at the Newport Hill Climb Oct. 2nd - 4th, 2009 in Newport, Indiana
Countdown til the 2009 Newport Antique Auto Hill Climb
Saturday Aug 1st
I'm a little disappointed, they told me I was going to a luau so I thought I was getting to go to Hawaii so when I ended up at Culver's I was a bit surprised and disappointed. Instead it was the Luau Cruise Night party. Saw some familiar faces and met some new people also. I wish I knew how many signatures I have collected but every time I try to count them someone or something distracts me and I lose count. It doesn't take much at my age, remember I'm 72 years old.
Friday Aug 7th
It's the 1st Friday again so it's time for the Memories cruise. I was in pretty good shape so I didn't have much to do to get ready. About 3:30 Big Al fired me up and off we went with Jackie following us to make sure we didn't have any problems. We made it there without a hitch. We mounted our flag, put out our signs, and placed our trophy on the roof. At 4 o'clock they opened the flood gates and the cars and people started rolling in. It didn't take long for the lot to fill up. Dale, Big Al and Mark along with myself started talking to the people and getting them to sign me. Mr. T called and said that he had gotten Chip Foose to sign my glove box door which he had taken with him to Louisville. It was a long hot evening but turned out to be a good night for the local food pantries. Around 9 o'clock we packed up and headed for the garage.
Wednesday August 25th
I've been sitting in the driveway most of the month watching the mall cars driving up and down the street. Denny & Mr. T have been on an excursion most of the month. They started out going to Louisville then from there they went to Bonneville Salt Flats. Do you think I could go along? No my 2 cousins got to go. I guess they figured out that my feelings were hurt as they took me to lunch today. Then over to the office of the Clip Newspaper. The nice gentleman there took my picture and is going to do a little story about me! Then we went to Mr. T's office so he could show me off. On the way home I had to go up this big hill and when I got to the top my tongue was hanging out. I did make it to the Murphy Flats garage but I was a little hot when I got there. I think the problem is that my arteries are clogged. Denny opened my petcock and nothing ran out, upon further inspection he discovered that there was some muddy stuff clogging my petcock. Maybe I need a good flushing, but that is another story.
