Parts & Things - Team 37 Logo

Team 37 is a group of Friends that have traveled together through out the years. While we just like to have fun because of the hard economic times we have decided to make a trip with a purpose. We are doing the HILL CLIMB FOR HUNGER. at the Newport Hill Climb Oct. 2nd - 4th, 2009 in Newport, Indiana

Countdown til the 2009 Newport Antique Auto Hill Climb

Friday July 3rd

Denny spent much of the day getting me ready for the big Memories cruise tonight. He changed my oil and gave me a good rub down, I feel great & look good. A little after 3 o'clock Big Al showed up to drive me to the cruise. We all took off with Denny driving my cousin the chopped 37 sedan and Chris driving her little Midget, & headed to the cruise. I don't think the boys realize that I have to be fed just like them. I'm sure they are probably eating at least 2 meals a day. Now I don't need that much but I do have needs. So about 2 miles from the garage I started feeling really weak and just couldn't go any further, I think my blood sugar was low. I sat on the side of the road while Denny went to get me some fuel. While I was sitting there a couple of people stopped to see if I was alright or needed help. It was fun talking to them and helped to pass the time. Finally Denny showed up with a 5 gallon can of liquid nourishment. I felt much better so off to the cruise I headed.

We made it to the cruise without any more incidents. Picked a nice spot right on the main drag so I could show off all my signatures & amusing antics. Because it was the eve of the 4th of July I was decorated with flags and this cool red, white & blue ribbon on my grill. I'm having the time of my life, meeting some really nice people and some of the things people write on me are a real hoot. I'll remember these days for a long time. I feel pretty oh so pretty......wait I'm digressing... back to my story.

The cruise is over and where do the boys & girls head? Yea off to the choke & puke for some nourishment. I sat outside waiting for them to stuff their faces & swap more stories. When they came out I was looking a little woosee so Mr T, in case you forgot he's the leader of the pack & the holder of my title. Guess it looked like I couldn't make it back to the Murphy Flats garage so he had Big Al take me across the street for more liquid nourishment. I don't know what Big Al's problem was but he made me drive almost all the way to the garage with only my parking lights on. As we turned down the street to the garage he turns my headlights on, what's up with that? I don't know if it was a test or he was brain dead.

All in all it was a good day & I had a great time. It's late and I'm tired so I'm going to say Goodnight til next time.

Mr T's thoughts for the evening

We made our appearance all decked out in our patriotic colors. We are now sporting new running boards that need to be filled with signatures. We proudly displayed our trophy that we received for running out of gas going to Pevely. Since that happened we have really been paying close attention to gas. Arrived a little late, excuse RAN OUT OF GAS AGAIN. Really we have now spent the big bucks & filled the tank!! Odometer is now working. Gas gauge, apparently full means full maybe & ¼ means empty. Again thanks to the generosity of the crowds. A good collection was made for the food pantries. A big thank you to everyone that is making this possible. Met a lot of nice people & have heard some good stories about other 37's out there. We think we have inspired Terry Heady to get his coupe going.

July 4th

Happy Birthday America

Also take a moment and say thanks to all our veterans past and present. If it weren't for them we couldn't do what we do.

July 26th

Last week the boys put my front fenders on so now I'm all dressed up. Today I got to go to the Jefferson Barracks VA Hospital for a car show that Memories Car Club put on for the troops and staff. There was a good turn out of cars with about 50+ cars from Memories Car club and the Coachman. Normally I charge a dollar for someone to sign me, but for the vets today it was free. If my memory serves me right I think a 176 vets signed me some where with most on my new fenders. MMC furnished hot dogs, chips and soda for the vet and staff.
